David Cory is a workplace performance consultant specializing in individual and organizational performance improvement. In addition to a Master of Arts Degree in Adult Education, David is certified as a trainer/facilitator with several leading corporate training companies such as Achieve Global and Development Dimensions International. He is a Certified Trainer in the area of Emotional Intelligence with MHS Inc. and is considered to be an international expert on the integration of emotional intelligence and leadership development.

David's expertise includes:

·         assessment of learning needs;

·         design and delivery of customized performance improvement interventions including the development of personal and interpersonal effectiveness skills, leadership skills, presentation skills, and team effectiveness skills;

·         psychometric assessment for recruiting, screening and employee development;

·         facilitating team building and strategic planning sessions;

·         conference and meeting key note presentations, and;

·         executive coaching (one-to-one and group/team).

David also has six years of experience as a manager in the workplace training division of a post-secondary institution, (formerly called) the Open Learning Agency, Burnaby, British Colimbia, Canada. During the term of his employment, David was responsible for the growth of a small local ‘pilot-project’ service with one office into a province-wide, 21 office project with a multi-million dollar budget. This was the largest single contract held by the institution.

David is associated with and provides services in partnership with many companies, most notably, Achieve Global, MICA Management Resources, the federal government's Canada School of Public Service in Ottawa, EuraMaTech (Liverpool), and The Oxford Management Centre (Oxford). David has delivered courses in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and London, United Kingdom, as the EuraMaTech and Oxford Management Centre expert on emotional intelligence and leadership.

In addition to his organizational consulting and training practice, David’s company, The Emotional Intelligence Training Company Inc. hosted the first Vancouver International EQ Conference in July 2006 which brought together ‘EQ experts,’ including Dr. Reuven Bar-On, from all over North America.

David is active in the local chapter of the International Society for Performance Improvement as a past president and frequent guest speaker and volunteers his services to the Canadian Cancer Society. Finally, David is often requested as a keynote speaker at conferences (HR conferences in Bahrain, Brunei, Kuala Lumpur) and professional association meetings (BCHRMA, ISPI, CSTD, SHRM, ICF) on the topic of emotional intelligence and often uses his international award nominated singing and guitar playing abilities to engage learners in alternative learning experiences in his corporate presentations.

Music has always been a big part of David's life. Ever since he started singing, he's been using his musical talent to touch people's lives. He's recorded an award nominated album of original music and has incorporated music into corporate training and speaking which receives rave reviews, like this comment from a participant of a presentation on Emotional Intelligence for the Human Resource Management Association:
